Yokohama Industries Americas (YIA) has always been dedicated to the safety and training of our employees. To further that commitment, we have recently partnered with Convergence Training Solutions to develop our NEW YIA Learning Management System (LMS). This partnership enhances our training efforts and strengthens our commitment to employee safety and health as well as the quality of the components in which we manufacture.
Through the YIA LMS, every employee has the capability to login and view a list of training that has been assigned to them. In most cases, the employee is able to complete their assigned training directly from their desktop computer. Program and Department managers also have the capability to view reports generated by the LMS, which gives them visibility regarding the training completion status inside their respective department(s).
In instances where “group training” is assigned to a team, team members, such as the Zone Team, Safety Team, Quality Team or CPR/First Aid training sessions, may also work with their teams to complete the training assignment. This helps to ensure that each member of the team receives credit for the training also gives the team members a chance to discuss the training topic with other team members to ensure that the entire team fully understands the material before they proceed.
In addition, our partnership with Convergence Training Solutions gives us access to one of the fastest-growing and most-interactive training libraries available on the market today. Convergence makes extensive use of virtual, three-dimensional images of equipment and work areas. Their use of 3-D animation and audio narration makes training more fun and provides views of objects, equipment, and people that are impossible to view in traditional methods like photos or videos.
